With a joystick, the pointer continues moving in the direction the joystick is pointing. A lever moves in all directions and controls the movement of a pointer or some other display symbols. To stop the pointer, you must return the joystick to its upright position. They are generally used for playing games and not fOr controlling the on-screen cursor in productivity software.
